郭厝村是丘陵地带的村庄，南面紧邻奈清水库，村落沿石祥公路两侧分布，是进入鸿山的西大门。[1][2]

村中耕地80亩，其中水田10亩，主要种植甘薯、花生、水稻和大豆，设4个村民小组。[1]

地名与历史[edit]

相传此地早先由郭姓建居，后郭姓没落，沿用“郭厝”之名。[2]

明代中期，胡、蔡、曾等姓陆续迁入。清代族谱记载，明初邱氏二世祖葬于本地，人称“郭厝公”。[2]

1985年，村从原来的大队中独立出来，设立郭厝村委会。[2]
