莲厝村位于鸿山镇政府驻地西侧约2.7公里处，村落分布在石祥公路鸿山段的两侧。[1][2]

村庄西北侧有莲花山，村民依山建房，村名因此而来。[2]

地名与历史[edit]

境内原有一座形状如莲花的山，故村名“莲厝”。[2]

莲湖水库始建于1958年，1959年6月完工，坝长200米，坝高9.8米，是鸿山主要的农田水利设施之一。[3]

宋代隶安仁乡永宁里，明清归二十一都。民国33年（1944年）为复兴乡锦林保，1949年划归晋江县第九区（永宁）。1955年改隶双湖区，1956年划入莲塘区，1958年隶属祥芝公社。[2]

1961年拆出另设莲厝大队；1985年改称莲厝村委会，1988年归石狮市祥芝乡管辖。[2]

人口与设施[edit]

耕地722亩，其中水田46亩；辖区面积约3.5平方公里。全村共有567户，总人口2121人，村民小组7个。[1]

村内的幸福院被评为泉州市四星级养老服务设施。[4]

荣誉[edit]

2018年，村庄参加创建泉州市农村社区示范村；此前曾获福建省级生态村、泉州市级文明村镇等称号。[1]

2022年10月，莲厝村被福建省农业农村厅认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」；2020年12月，被认定为「2020年泉州市中级版“绿盈乡村”」。[2]

2024年1月，村庄被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[2]
