地名与历史[edit]
村名一说取自墩峰之西的位置，村落建在一处大地墩上。[2]
1961年，村从伍鸿大队分出，设立西墩大队；1985年改为西墩村委会。[2]
草柄自然村，相传该处原为魏氏聚居之所，周围草木茂盛，故旧称“草边”；闽南话里“边”“柄”音近，遂改称“草柄”。明代，王、黄等姓陆续迁入。[2][3]
乌山脚位于乌龟山山脚下，因“乌龟”一称不雅，省去“龟”字，又称“乌山乡”，黄、吴等姓居住于此。[3]
