大堡村位于祥芝镇政府驻地，东面濒临泉州湾，村名取自旧时滨海筑起的城堡。村内企业以漂染、电镀为主。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

村地濒海，古时为防备海寇入侵，在村南一带筑起城堡，因形势险要而得名「大堡」。城堡如今已经毁圮，几乎找不到遗迹。这一说法见于道光年间的《晋江县志》。[2][3]

村中刘姓据清代族谱自认是南宋抗金名将刘錡的后裔。[3]

经济[edit]

村里有40多家企业，主要从事漂染和电镀。[1]

2021年和2022年，大堡村先后列入「淘宝村」名单。[2]

文化[edit]

村里曾获石狮市授予的2016—2018年度文明村（2019年11月），以及泉州市授予的2017—2019年度文明村（2020年11月）。[1]

村中还保存着一处宋代刘锜的石刻，属于本村的古迹。[4]
