溪前村是蚶江镇下辖的行政村，位于镇东南边沿，双髻山北麓，与永宁镇、宝盖镇相交。村名因村落临厝上溪而得，下辖溪前、院内两个自然村。[1][2]

地名与历史沿革[edit]

因村落临厝上溪，故名溪前，又雅称碧溪。多数居民住在碧溪以南一带，村名或由此而来。[1]

宋代属安仁乡永宁里，元、明、清属二十一都。1956年划入莲塘区莲塘乡，1958年设溪前大队，驻于院内村，1984年改称溪前村委会。[1][3]

人口与村情[edit]

据2025年8月公布的村情信息，全村外来人口209人，户籍人口2093人；住户579户，村民代表40人。辖区面积约1.2平方千米。[2]

地理与古迹[edit]

村落两面环水，村中有一处矿区，以采石子为主。交通便利，周边有石锦大道、东环路与石祥大道相接。[3]

院内自然村东侧有碧云寺。村民房屋多位于寺院的辖地之内，村名院内由此而来。[3]
