东垵村是蚶江镇下辖的行政村，位于镇政府驻地南面，莲山西北隅，地处石狮市大北环边缘。村名与古时的一道埭有关，村落便围绕此埭兴起。村内分上东垵、下东垵两个角落。[1][2]

地名与历史沿革[edit]

古时这里有一道埭，名东垵埭，村落便围绕此埭兴起，村名因之而来。村庄地貌恰如马鞍形，南北两头高高翘起。[1]

元明清时期归廿三都管辖。1958年至1993年，本村与邻村合为一个建制村；1994年起单独设为建制村。[1]

人口与村情[edit]

据2025年8月公布的村情信息，全村外来人口900多人，户籍人口1601人；住户445户，村民小组6个，村民代表46人。[2]

姓氏与人文[edit]

东垵是闽南一带纪氏的发祥地之一。宋理宗时，纪氏始祖因直言犯上被贬，见此地有山有水，便择地而居，建书院，名「正己堂」，此后在此传衍成族。[1]

上东垵以王姓居多；下东垵的住户则以洪、陈、纪三姓为主。[1]

荣誉[edit]

村获得的荣誉有「石狮市文明村」、「泉州市绿色村庄」和「福建省美丽乡村示范村」。[2]
