莲西村是蚶江镇下辖的行政村，位于蚶江镇南部，关公山西面，村舍沿石蚶公路两侧分布。1982年自原大队分出，1984年改称莲西村委会。村内2005年经过旧村改造，道路四通八达。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

此地古时属安仁乡江阴里，元、明、清间归二十三都管辖。民国时期分属第四区、石狮区，后归蚶江乡。新中国成立后，1949年归永宁区，1952年改属双湖区，1956年划入莲塘区。[1]

1958年设大队，1982年自原大队分出，1984年改称莲西村委会。村名取自原大队的西堡。[3][1]

人口与村情[edit]

据2025年8月公布的村情信息，全村外来人口1000多人，户籍人口2198人；住户582户，村民小组9个，村民代表52人。辖区面积1.2平方千米，2005年经旧村改造后，村间道路硬化面积达95%。[2]

荣誉与古迹[edit]

村获得的荣誉有「泉州市青少年法治教育基地」、「石狮市先进基层党支部」、「征兵工作先进村」等。[2]

旧时村中有一座横跨海岸的长桥，如今龙津古寺东侧仍立着《重修七星桥碑记》。[3]
