地名[edit]
旧时这里有一条玉兰浦江，汇聚龟湖塘与象畔塘（今称塘头塘）的诸水东流入海。因位于浦港之内，此地称“浦内”。[2] 村子坐落在玉兰浦江之上，故名“上浦”。[2]
文化遗产[edit]
宋代，浦内修建了一座石桥，名为“玉兰桥”。玉澜桥遗址位于村内的玉澜浦，年代为宋代，属市级文物保护单位；遗址在宋代称“玉澜渡口”。[2][3]
地理与交通[edit]
市区排洪沟流经村中，它是石狮市区通向海上的重要水道之一。村子距泉州环城高速石狮互通口约1公里。[1]

据2026年3月的行政村简介，村内共有人口1657人，分住487户；另有村民代表44人，划分为10个村民小组。村党支部有党员60名，另有企业联合党支部党员3名，村两委成员6名。[1]
