地名与姓氏[edit]
南宋淳熙十六年（1189年），晋江清沟的苏崇龟迁居此地，因其为苏姓，故称“苏厝”。[3] 苏崇龟为缄公之后，据称曾到龟湖一带办学并留居于此。[2]
清代，苏厝石埕房的一支苏氏于康熙年间迁往台湾，定居台南县城仔内，成为当地苏氏的开基。[3]
行政沿革[edit]
1984年设苏厝村民委员会，1990年归石狮街道办事处管辖，1993年划属宝盖镇。[2]
村情[edit]
据2026年3月的行政村简介，村内常住880人，外来685人，住户共226户；设村民小组4个，村民代表32人，支部党员30名，村两委成员5名。[1]
荣誉[edit]
村曾获「石狮市平安村」「先进基层党组织」「计划生育合格村」和文明村等称号。[1]
