后宅村位于石狮市中部，辖区面积约0.6平方公里，属宝盖镇，村子靠近宝盖山麓，濒龟湖塘。[1][3]
村子始建于南宋嘉定年间，原名“厚泽”，新中国成立后以“厚”为“后”、以“泽”为“宅”，改称后宅。[3]
地名与宗族[edit]
村中林氏自南宋时以原庵公为始祖在此开基，村子当时称为“桃林”，又称桃源；村中林氏的族谱就名为《桃林宗谱》。[4]
林氏迁居此地，取“厚德载物，德泽后昆”之意，以“厚泽”作为村的雅称。明清时期，林氏人丁兴旺，外迁的族人有的渡海到台湾，落脚鹿港、笨港与台南，有的则去了厦门、漳州、安溪和晋江等地，并把“厚泽”之名带去。[4] 鹿港著名中药铺“阳春号”，即由来自此地的林氏所创，此后“阳春”成为鹿港厚泽派林氏的堂号。[4]
行政沿革[edit]
村子在清代属二十四都。1950年后曾归石狮公社管理，2000年8月拆村后另设后宅村委会。[3]
村情[edit]
据2026年3月的行政村简介，村内常住1182人，外来600人左右，住户318户；设村民小组4个，支部党员30名。辖区内有近25家企业和加工厂，以五金、塑料制品为主。[1]
2024年12月的村情页则记为现住户330户、常住人口1555人，村民小组5个，两次的数字并不一致。[2]
