地名[edit]
村子山明水秀，环境优雅，故取名“山雅”，俗称“山仔”，这一称呼见于道光《晋江县志·铺递志》。[2][3]
相传古时村头有五块形状各异的灵石，形似青蛙、田螺、龟与蛇，每逢深夜隐约可闻仙乐，故又称“仙境”；明清时期，村子又称“新锦”“仙锦”。[2][3]
姓氏与人物[edit]
村中吴氏与延陵衍派同源，开基始祖达斋公于宋代迁居此地。[3] 清嘉庆十六年（1811年），村中吴廷辉中进士。[3]
建置与历史建筑[edit]
建国初年，村子曾与周边村庄并称为“三吴村”；2000年后组建为行政村。[2]
村内的宁远楼为历史建筑，在宝盖镇2025年组织修缮的历史建筑之列。[4]
