地名与聚落[edit]
村子位于龟湖之后，故自南宋起依地理特征取名“塘后”。[2] 村辖塘后、东茂、梧园三个自然村；梧园之名始见于南宋，明清时又称“五园”。[2][3]
村中的集福堂原为水尾庵，黄氏家族兴盛后改称集福堂，奉祀玄天上帝，清代随黄氏族人迁往台湾，传入鹿港。[3]
行政沿革[edit]
明清时期此地属廿四都，民国时属石狮镇锦桃保。1953年成立初级社，1956年发展为高级社，1958年组建塘后大队，1984年改为村民委员会，1990年归石狮街道办事处管辖。[2]
村情[edit]
据2026年3月的行政村简介，村内有住户1010户、常住人口3868人，划分为12个村民小组，村民以服装小加工和五金加工为主要收入来源；2024年12月的村情页则记为1016户、原住民人口3890人。[1][4]
荣誉[edit]
村曾获「石狮市文明村」「先进党组织」「全省乡村治理示范村」等称号。[4]
