杆头村位于宝盖镇东南部，全村面积约2平方公里，是宝盖镇中的一个行政村。[1]

村名来自村前的“杆山”，山又称官山，村的雅称也由此而来；清初一度称“竿头”，1661年迁界时曾在此修建竿头寨。[2][3]

地名[edit]

村子坐落在杆山之前，“前”与“头”方言义近，故名“杆头”。杆与官在闽南话中同音，杆山又称官山，村名的雅称“官山”即源于此，如施氏家谱就称《官山浔海施氏家谱》，村中小学也曾叫“官山小学”。[3]

因杆与竿相通，明清时期又写作“竿头”，见于道光版《晋江县志》。[3]

历史[edit]

顺治十八年（1661年）清廷实行迁界，永宁沿海一带成为界外，永宁卫城被拆毁，城石被运到此地，修建了竿头寨。[3] 寨城今已不存，但“竿头寨”、“寨城脚”等地名仍在使用；寨门石刻“永靖门”现藏于石狮市博物馆。[3]

清乾隆年间，蚶江与台湾鹿港对渡，村中蔡氏陆续迁往台湾，为保持与祖家的联系，迁台蔡氏仍沿用旧村名“古西”作为家族的灯号。[3]

荣誉[edit]

2022年杆头村获石狮市“美丽田园”和泉州市“美丽田园”称号，2024年2月，村被列为「第二批福建省乡村振兴示范村镇」创建对象。[1][2]
