坑东村位于石狮市城乡接合部，北靠宝盖山，紧邻闽南理工学院，属宝盖镇。[1][2]

村中有民营工业小区，经济以企业和服装业为主，村内外来务工人员较多，另有私营企业17家。[2]

地名与历史[edit]

一说是南宋年间延陵吴氏迁居此地，在低洼的坑地东侧建屋，村因此得名“坑东”；另有说法称宋代吴氏先祖选居在宝盖山东南的坡地上，故别称“东坡”，明清时又称“古东”，村中吴氏族谱也取名《古东吴氏族谱》。[3][4]

村内有一处角落名为“官厅”，据称原为明代吴氏族人吴绰的故居，吴绰以岁贡生任广西茂林州学教授，致仕后回乡兴建官厅。[4]

清道光二十九年（1848年），吴益闲远渡吕宋，据称菲律宾重要商港宿务最早由坑东吴氏开发。[4]

据2024年12月村情页，全村辖7个村民小组，有人口1849人、525户；外来务工人员700多人。[2]

荣誉[edit]

村曾获省级乡村治理示范村、省级卫生村和省级「绿盈乡村」中级版等称号；2024年6月，中共泉州市委授予本村「全市先进基层党组织」称号。[2]
