宝源社区位于石狮市宝盖镇东南部，靠近石狮城区核心区，是宝盖镇设立的第一个社区，成立于2000年。[1]
社区由宝源花园、宝昌花园两个小区和两栋独立住宅楼组成，属于小区式社区，居民多来自外地，而不是原住民。[1]
建置与来历[edit]
社区名称取“宝聚百福，源溢千祥”之意，又因位于宝盖山下而得名，俗称“安居工程”。[2] 博雅地名网载称，2000年石狮市政府为解决公务员和职工的住房问题，在湖滨街道与宝盖镇的交界处建成安居小区，2004年才设立居委会，此后归宝盖镇管理。[2]
荣誉[edit]
社区曾获泉州市文明社区、交通安全省级文明社区等称号。[1]
