地名由来[edit]
据传隋唐以前，村附近为沼泽海滩，潮水退去后地面平整如田，故称「平田」。闽南方言中「平」与「彭」读音相近，遂改称「彭田」。村后山形如大鹏鸟，又有「鹏山」之称。[1]
村落[edit]
村辖彭田、加曾寨两个村落。加曾寨的大厝由蔡、林、李、陈、施、许等姓氏于清咸丰年间合建，称「七姓堂」；因大厝的布局像古寨，遂称「加曾寨」。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
明清两代此地分属十七、十八都，民国时隶属至善乡的彭田保。1958年成立大队，1984年改为彭田村。[1]
产业[edit]
村中有彭田运动休闲服装生产基地，以生产运动休闲服装为主，企业规模较大，数量较多。[2]
