茂厦村是灵秀镇下辖的行政村，俗称「茂下」，村落建在茂密的树林之中。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村中松树茂盛，王氏部分族人在此定居，取名「茂厦」。因村落建在古石塔（古航标）的后面，村子曾称「塔后」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期此地属十九都。茂厦王氏始祖于宋初迁来定居。2000年设立茂厦村委会。[1]
