塔前村是灵秀镇下辖的行政村，村名与村前一座古石塔（古航标）有关，村落以王氏族人为主。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

王氏族人在一座古石塔（古航标）前面的海湾冲积平原上建居，村因而称「塔前」。[1]

古时此处海湾有一座石塔，今已无存，它作航标使用，常有成群的大雁飞来栖息，村又称「雁塔」。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

王氏始祖王均畴随王审知入闽。明朝洪武年间，此地开始开发，至今已有600多年。乾隆四年（1739年），王氏在村中兴建祠堂，村落自此成为王氏聚居之地。[1]

1984年改称塔前村，1990年属石狮街道办事处。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年2月，塔前村入选「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。[1]
