前廊村是灵秀镇下辖的行政村，距镇区1.5公里，包括前廊、古宅、洋下三个自然村。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村子西北有灵秀山、大北山环绕，村前溪滩连片，地形如同一条走廊，故称「前廊」。[1]

自然村[edit]

古宅早年亦称「许宅」，「古宅」是俗称。宋代时，蔡氏始祖「博卿公」官至参议大夫，去世后葬于莲花山附近，子孙为守墓迁居山旁，取名「博泽」，意为承受博卿公的恩泽。闽南方言中「博泽」与「许宅」读音相近，久而演变为「许宅」。[2]

洋下雅称「洋霞」，乡民在地势低下的成片洋田中建居，因而得名。明朝时，邱氏始祖原籍河南，因看守祖坟迁来定居。[2]

前廊的蔡氏一部分来自本村的古宅，陈氏由晋江金井福全迁来定居。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1961年组建前廊大队，下辖前廊、古宅、洋下等自然村，1984年改为前廊村委会。1994年，村中一个自然村另设为村，前廊、古宅、洋下仍沿用前廊村委会。[1]
