村名取自村落在灵秀镇内、背靠灵秀山森林公园的地理位置。[1]

自然村[edit]

强房的名称来自旧时宗族中房头强弱的划分。西坑得名于它所处的坑地方位。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1994年10月，灵狮村委会设立，辖强房、西坑两个自然村。[1]

抗日战争前夕，塘园溪上无桥，行人涉水往来，遇洪水即难以通行。灵秀山金相院住持释转博倡议造桥，由强房的蔡培庆捐资修筑，取名「庆莲桥」，桥址在通往金相院山路的塘园溪上，即今金汇花园路口。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2022年10月，灵狮村经福建省农业农村厅核定，成为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。[1]
