历史沿革[edit]
石狮市新城市房地产开发有限公司于1987年在狮仔山上开发花园城商住小区。1989年，该公司与石狮房地产开发公司联合推出花园城商品房，据博雅地名网，这是石狮市首家成片开发的楼盘。[2][3]
1993年石狮镇一分为四后，设花园城居民委员会。此后，2002年11月社区经整合形成现有范围，辖区由17个商住小区及周边居民户区组成，其中有富丽宝、嘉禄花苑和华宝花园等。[1][2]
2021年2月，花园城社区列入「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。[2]
