格头村位于国宝乡西南部，其相邻的村落有佛岭、国宝与厚德三村，另与浔中镇石山村及盖德乡数村接壤。村中有明代建成的山后连氏祠堂，为福建省文物保护单位。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

据《德化县地名志》所载，本村原名甲头，取「甲冠全邑，独占鳌头」中的首尾二字，寓意人才辈出，别名亦为甲头。明初连氏先人迁入此地开基，村名始称甲头。1984年改为国宝乡格头村委会。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

山后连氏祠堂建于明代，1508年建成。祠堂坐南朝北，主楼为两层吊脚楼式样，院内设有品字池，建筑面积为585平方米。2013年，福建省政府把它列入第八批省级文物保护单位名录，周边外延20米为保护范围。[2]

文化[edit]

2017年8月，本村列入福建省第二批省级传统村落名录。2021年11月，福建省爱卫办命名本村为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]
