祥云村地处戴云山麓，与南斗村相邻，并与雷峰镇瑞坂村、赤水镇戴云村毗邻。村名的由来是：村庄位于戴云山南翼，溪水自北向南穿村而过，山高水清，清晨常有溪雾与山间云气相接，故称祥云。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期本村属德化第二区瑞上乡祥云保。1958年归雷峰公社，设祥云大队；1961年转入佛岭公社辖下，其后又隶国宝公社，仍名祥云大队；1984年称国宝乡祥云村委会。此前此地称上云，后改名祥云。[1][3]

文化[edit]

2021年12月，本村被确定为「泉州市2019—2021年度市级“一村一品”专业村（乡镇）」，主导产业为葡萄。福建省绿化委员会在2022年12月把本村命名为「2022年福建省森林村庄」。[1]
