本村位于乡境西北侧，与佛岭村、格头村相接，另有村界与赤水镇的村庄相邻。本村旧称「郭坂」，因郭氏世代居住而得名；后有叶氏迁入繁衍，清代将「郭坂」谐音改写为「国宝」，乡名即由此而来。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
宋明两代，本村归集贤乡管下的新化里；入清后则编入新化里中的后格社。1984年改设国宝村委会。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
村内现存叶氏太平寨、下井寨等明清时期的山寨遗址，与抗倭时期的史事和当地的防御传统有关。[2]
文化[edit]
2021年11月，福建省爱卫办命名本村为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]
