桂阳村为德化县桂阳乡的政府驻地，也是全乡政治、经济、文化与交通的中心枢纽。[1][2]该村面积约11.55平方千米，1999年末人口为1248人。[3]

地名与沿革[edit]

村子因境内多桂树、地势向阳而得名，旧时也叫官厅洋。[2][3]明末此地修起一座官厅，元末又在村子西侧建起太平寨。[1][3]

宋代，这里是常平乡的贵湖里；明代则成了该乡所辖的杨梅上团；清代并入梅上里的桂阳社。[3]民国时期编为桂阳联保下的桂阳保，之后又隶属桂溪乡与桂涌乡。[2]新中国成立后，先后隶属德化县第四区的桂涌乡、桂阳乡；1958年设桂阳大队，归上涌人民公社。[2]1961年改属溪洋公社，1984年改制为桂阳乡桂阳村，设村民委员会。[2][3]

地理环境[edit]

村庄所在处高990米，气候归为亚热带季风性湿润类型，年平均气温约16℃。[1][3]矿产以高岭土和煤为主，林产有杂木、松、杉、毛竹、油茶等。[3]

人口[edit]

1999年的登记显示，全村有280个户、人数1248，性别上男性649、女性599，劳动力为435。[3]

名胜古迹[edit]

太平寨位于村西侧，据博雅地名网所载建于元末；县里公布的第三次全国文物普查名录，将它记为明、清时期的遗存，属一般不可移动文物。[2][3][4]

村中另有桂阳林氏祖厝，年代为清，同样登记在该普查名录中。[4]

荣誉[edit]

2019年，村庄入选「第五批中国传统村落」名录。[1][2]

村子在2020年12月进入泉州市中级版绿盈乡村之列，名称为「2020年泉州市中级版绿盈乡村」。[2]

2022年12月，桂阳村获省级爱国卫生组织命名为「2022年福建省卫生村」。[2]

2023年2月，列入「福建省第三批高级版绿盈乡村」名单。[2]
