吉山村是汤头乡的行政村，位于乡境东部，村域海拔介于九百至九百五十米，土地面积为9.79平方千米。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

据传，赖氏先祖六八公前来开垦时，见此地风光与气候俱佳，村名因此而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放前，这里叫作草吉；新中国成立后划归团结乡。[1]1962年春，村子从葛坑人民公社分出，成为汤头人民公社的吉山大队；1984年起，它以汤头乡吉山村的名义设立村委会。[1]

乡级资料的说法略有不同，记为1961年吉山自上涌公社析出归汤头公社。[3]

自然环境与资源[edit]

村境内蕴藏储量较大、质地优良的高岭土，并有铅、锰矿。[2]

交通与经济[edit]

城关至葛坑、城关至汤头的两条公路都经过本村，村中另开通了通往各自然村落的机耕路。[2]

2001年，村民合资成立了创利达农副产品经营部，负责把本地村民种植的佛手瓜等农产品销往厦门、福州等地。[2]

人口[edit]

2004年末统计，村中为357户，人口1388人。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2023年12月，吉山村被认定为「2023年度福建省一村一品专业村」，产品为佛手瓜。[1]
