汤头村是汤头乡人民政府的驻地，位于德化县通往尤溪县的要道旁，海拔约800至850米，距德化县城约58公里。[1][2]全村土地总面积23.57平方千米，划分为洋面、垅头、彭园、赤土寨4个自然角落，设8个村民小组。[2]

地名与沿革[edit]

村中有温泉，村民先在泉边筑起池子，居所便建在池子的前方，村名由此而来。[1]

政社分开（1961年）后组成汤头人民公社，次年改为汤头生产大队。1984年10月，此地改称汤头乡汤头村，并设村委会。[1]

自然资源[edit]

矿产方面，垅头寨尾产铅、锌，彭园有钨矿，赤土寨则有瓷土矿。[1]赤土寨还出产木材、毛竹、松脂与柑桔。[1]

人口与产业[edit]

2004年底，全村447户、1847人。[2]2001年，村里引进设立竹制品厂，使村中竹农的竹子有了销路。[2]

教育与卫生[edit]

村内有汤头中学，并设村卫生所。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年12月，汤头村被命名为「2021年度福建省森林村庄」。[1][3]

2024年1月，汤头村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]

2021年12月，村庄被确定为「泉州市2019-2021年度市级一村一品专业村（乡镇）」，主导产业为柑桔。[1]
