西墘村是德化县杨梅乡下辖的行政村，在乡域东侧，离乡政府约8.5公里，海拔720米。村民住户沿天花寨南面的山坡分布。[1][2]

德化县人民政府的文件写作“西墘村”，博雅地名网的村名页则多写作“西乾村”。[3][4][1]

地名由来[edit]

据博雅地名网的解释，“西乾”之名来自村子位于白洋山与黄狮格以西的地理位置，村后的上寨山形状半扁，也是取名的缘由之一。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

宋明两代，此地划在常平乡之下的杨梅中团。清朝归梅中里，所在的社为梅峰社。民国年间先隶桂溪乡际头保，后改属洪田保。[1]

1951年并入和平乡（隶第六区），1955年设乡，1958年组建大队，归葛坑公社管辖。1960年转属上涌公社，1961年又归杨梅公社。1984年改为村委会建制。[2]

民国初年，苏亿响应孙中山的革命而举事，以天花寨为大本营，与北洋军阀李厚基展开激战。[2]

2024年6月，本村上榜「福建省第四批高级版绿盈乡村」。[2]

经济[edit]

村域蕴藏黄金、铜矿与石板材，水力资源充足，建有扶枫林、红菇林等多座水电站。农林兼营，并有零星的黄金采掘。常见的农副产品有木材、板栗、柚、李、香菇、茶油、松脂、毛竹和笋干。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

天花寨在村部后山，海拔1124米，寨墙由乱石垒成，高5至10米，可容千余人。1913年，北洋军阀久攻不下，改以炮火轰击，义军同年10月撤离。寨墙至今保存完好。[5]

村中原有银杏七株，1999年后又补植百余株。[2]
