小湖村是美湖镇人民政府的驻地，与上岸、洋坑、美湖等村毗邻。村中有刘、林、郑、陈等多个姓氏，村内有千年樟树王一株。[1][4]

历史沿革[edit]

村名旧称小尤，1949年以后按方言读音改作小湖，此外也称小尤。[1]

明嘉靖年间，刘姓先祖自大田县科山迁来，居于洋中里一带，其他姓氏此后陆续定居。[1]

明代此地隶属集贤乡新化里，清代归新化里的尊美社。民国初年仍保留旧有建制，1938年改编为小尤保，归双阳乡；1955年设小湖乡；1958年划入赤水公社；1961年从中析出，另设小湖大队，归美湖公社；1984年改设小湖村委会，属美湖镇。[1]

人口民族[edit]

村中刘、林、郑、陈、易、廖、章、郭、许等姓共461户1954人，分居洋中里、石崛、后里垅等八个自然村落。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村域耕地985亩，林地3700亩。[1][2]

经济[edit]

耕作以水稻、甘薯、蔬菜与马铃薯为主，养殖之外，杂交水稻制种与食用菌生产也是收入的来源。[1]

文化[edit]

2023年2月，小湖村列入福建省第三批「高级版绿盈乡村」名单。[1]

2025年3月，村庄被认定为「2024年度德化县乡村发展工作机制突出村」；同年5月被确定为泉州市「一村一品」专业村，2025年度主导产业为大米。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

村中的美湖千年樟树王据称植于唐初，于1997年被认定为省级古树名木。[4]

小湖显应庙为唐代建筑，在2012年第三次全国文物普查中登记为一般不可移动文物。[3]
