后宅村位于上涌镇东部，地处戴云山北麓的山沟之中，距乡政府所在地约13公里，距县城约60公里[1]。全村面积20.77平方千米，下辖东溪、上林、后宅、仁金番4个自然村[1]。村中旧有厚德堂，村名由此得来，后因方言读音相近而写作“后宅”[1]。2021年11月，村庄获评「2021年福建省卫生村」[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
1958年以前，此地归陈溪乡管辖。当年4月至9月，全县撤区改设乡，后宅改属上涌乡[1]。1963年设后宅大队，1965年一度改称上林大队，1966年上林大队撤销，仍统归后宅大队[1]。1984年成立后宅村委会，隶属上涌乡，此后随撤乡建镇更名为上涌镇后宅村[1]。
产业[edit]
村里以毛竹为主导产业。2024年10月，村庄被确定为「泉州市2024年度市级“一村一品”专业村」；2024年11月，被认定为「2024年度福建省“一村一品”专业村」，均以毛竹为产业[1]。
