石室村位于龙门滩镇西北部，北邻雷峰镇，距镇政府约13公里。[1] 村名相传源于旧时石氏先民聚居于此。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明代此地为永宁乡崇平里所辖，清代归清泰里峰魁社。民国时期立石室保，属霞碧乡。[1]

1950年隶属德化县第二区（霞碧乡），1951年改隶第七区。1961年建石室大队，归霞碧公社；1984年设石室村委会，隶属霞碧乡。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村域土地面积5.94平方千米，设有7个村民小组。[1]

人口民族[edit]

1999年末全村有222户1028人。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

进村公路旁的岩尖之下有一座岩寺，寺中供奉正觉祖师佛，寺庙历史悠久。[2]
