龙门滩镇位于福建省泉州市德化县东南部，东南与仙游、永春两县相邻，镇域面积215.55平方千米。[1][4] 镇政府驻硕儒村。[4]

镇名来自镇政府驻地靠近龙门滩水库库区北侧山坡的地形。[1] 龙门滩水库是镇内的主要水利工程。[5]

历史沿革[edit]

宋、明两代，这一带先后隶属永宁乡、归德乡和集贤乡下的清泰里、善均里、惠民里与嵩平里。清代属在坊里茅岐社，乾隆五十六年（1791年）改称文兴社。[3]

民国时期为碧霞乡。1951年设第七区，1956年并入雷峰区。1958年曾划作霞碧、苏洋、大溪三乡，同年组建霞碧公社；1960年该公社并入浔中，次年复置。[3]

1984年10月起称霞碧乡，直到1991年12月才改设为镇，名为霞碧镇。[3][4] 1994年8月，霞碧镇更名龙门滩镇。[2][3]

地理环境[edit]

镇地处石牛山西南麓，全年平均气温约18℃，降水每年约1900毫米。[2]

境内有浐溪、石龙溪、大溪等溪流，可开发的水利资源近5万千瓦。已发现的矿产有铁、高岭土、石英石、长石和叶蜡石。[2]

2011年4月，环境保护部把「2011年度国家级生态乡镇」的称号授予龙门滩镇。[1]

人口民族[edit]

居民以汉族为多，1999年末全镇人口为14725人。[2] 2019年末户籍人口为15036人。[4]

名胜古迹[edit]

龙门滩水库是龙门滩引水工程梯级开发的龙头水库，连接闽江与晋江两个水系。工程1985年12月开工，1989年末建成，大坝属碾压混凝土重力坝，坝高最大处为56.5米。[5]

镇内的古迹与古村落分见各村条目，文物建筑见碧坑村条。[1]
