园丁社区即园丁新村，位于龙浔镇西部，在省道305线坪埔段北侧。[1]

园丁新村的建设源于教师住房紧张：1996年7月，县教育局牵头在丁溪村征地兴建，1998年底全部竣工交付使用。[2] 1999年11月，县政府批准成立园丁新村居委会，住户均为教师及其家属。[2]
