历史沿革[edit]
介福一带旧称四班，得名于境内龙津、紫美、扬美、大丘头四个自然村（班）。另一说法是明代永春知县骆起孟见此地平坦肥沃、四周群山环护，称之为“盖福”，此名谐音为“界福”，后简写为“介福”。[4][5]
宋至清代此地属民康乡的鸣琴里与二十都。民国时期归第三区（湖洋）的福阳乡管辖。新中国成立后隶属关系屡有变动，1958年划归城关公社，1961年析出另设介福公社，1984年改称介福乡。[5][6]
地理环境[edit]
全乡四面环山，地势较平坦，海拔550至620米，耕地六千多亩，山地三万多亩。全乡距德化县城13公里，离泉三高速德化出口有15公里。[1]
环境保护部在2012年12月把「2010—2011年度国家级生态乡镇」的称号授予本乡；2020年12月，福建省爱卫办又将本乡命名为「福建省卫生乡镇」。[4]
经济[edit]
工业以陶瓷为主。乡内高岭土矿藏丰富，贮藏量在5000万吨以上。全乡有陶瓷企业46家，其中规模以上企业9家，此外另有家庭作坊100多家，产品包括茶具、碗、个性杯、卫生洁具和艺术品等。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
介福古瓷遗址位于龙津村、紫美村、福东村境内，年代为明清，是县级文物保护单位。[7]
