夹际村位于仙夹镇南端，距镇区约7千米，距永春县城22千米，南面与南安市蓬华镇相邻。村中有碧溪书院与夹际小学旧址两处县级文物保护单位，是仙夹镇的一个侨乡村。[1][6]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，村中始祖于明天顺二年（1458年）从德化迁入。民国时期这里称「保」，新中国成立后初期改称「乡」，20世纪50年代设为大队，「文化大革命」期间称村革命委员会，20世纪80年代起称夹际村委会。[1][2]

村名的来历有三种说法：一说因两山夹峙、中间有溪的地形，溪水在尾端成瀑，故名夹际；一说夹际始祖居天柱山下，而郑樵著书之地被称为夹际山；又一说是取郑樵的号而得名。村名另有别称「乞蔗」。[3]

村部海拔680米；耕地1200亩，山地4120亩，数据见2021年村情简介。[6]

文化[edit]

碧溪书院又称「九厅十八房书院」，清嘉庆九年（1804年）建成，建筑面积约429平方米。书院的溪水自后门天井引入，穿过院落后从前门流出。该书院于2020年12月列入第六批县级文物保护单位。[4][6][7]

夹际小学旧址建于1946年，即民国三十五年，1950年续建，为三进式的闽南侨乡建筑，中西合璧，于2020年12月列入第六批县级文物保护单位。[5][7]

据2021年村情简介，村中较完整地保留着五十多座古建筑与古民居，并有树龄355年的夫妻银杏。[6]

夹际村在2017年8月进入福建省第二批省级传统村落名录；2020年12月被认定为泉州市中级版「绿盈乡村」；2021年11月被福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」；2023年2月入选福建省第三批高级版「绿盈乡村」名单；2025年5月，夹际村获评市级「一村一品」专业村，以优质大米为主导产业。[1]
