历史沿革[edit]
村名有「东关桥尾」之意，因居民多住在桥尾一带而得名。[4]
宋元明清时期，此地隶属善政乡和平里，属十五都。民国时期为太平乡下的一个保；新中国成立初属湖洋区，此后属东平区，并归东关乡管辖。[3]
1961年分出设为东美生产大队；1984年改设东美村村民委员会；1998年改属东关镇。[3]
地理环境[edit]
村子距县城约10公里、距镇区约1公里。东面与外碧村相连，西面与美升村隔溪相望，北面与镇政府所在地和东华社区相邻。[1][2]
经济[edit]
村中农业以芦柑、冬瓜、茶叶种植和水产养殖为支柱。因山美水库扩蓄和公路征地，村中现存耕地已不多。[2]
文化[edit]
村中的东关桥（又名通仙桥）矗立于村子中心。此外，村中还有刘京吊桥、小水电展览馆和印尼风情园，都可供游览。[2]
村里获得的荣誉包括：2021年12月，村子获认定为福建省第二批高级版绿盈乡村（乡镇）；2025年5月，村子列入泉州市「五个美丽」整村打造培育名单。[1]
