南美回族村位于东关镇东北部，是永春县两个少数民族行政村之一，村民大部分为回族。村民于明末由泉州迁入，分散居住在南村、塔尾、后龙三个自然村落。[1][2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

回族村民于明末从泉州迁居到现在的村址，至今已繁衍二十代左右。[2]

地理环境[edit]

村子位于山区，距镇区约23公里，全村幅员约3平方千米，山地多而耕地少。[1][2]

人口与民族[edit]

村中以回族村民为多，是永春县两个少数民族行政村之一。[2][3]

经济[edit]

村民以种植芦柑和茶叶为主，也有不少人到泉州、晋江等地经营超市、便利店或外出务工。[2]

文化[edit]

该村先后获得多项荣誉：2015年10月入选福建省第一批省级传统村落；第二批中国少数民族特色村寨的称号，于2017年3月由国家民委授予；2017年10月获中国生态文化协会授予2017年度「全国生态文化村」称号；2019年12月入选第一批国家森林乡村名单；2022年11月，村子被确定为泉州市中级版「绿盈乡村」。[1]
