地名由来[edit]
村子因山清水秀而取「锦」字；沿溪两岸的八个自然村弯曲分布，俯视如巨龙腾飞，于是名为锦龙，寓意锦绣前程。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
宋至清代，村子属十八都。1949年以前分属湖蓬乡与湖洋乡的锦凤保，新中国成立后归第六区、第十区的锦凤乡。[1]
1958年，它并入湖洋公社锦凤大队。1961年，锦凤大队中分出一支，取「锦凤」「溪仔」各一字，称锦溪大队；1981年地名普查时，县内另有锦斗公社的锦溪大队，于是改名锦龙大队，1984年起又称锦龙村民委员会。[1]
