楚安村位于达埔镇西北部，距镇政府驻地约3.6公里，四面环山[2][3]。村名由1907年刘氏族长刘经中所定：他借楚地而兴刘，以此追念刘邦战胜项羽[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

村子原名草垵。明正德年间，刘姓始祖由原居住地迁入草垵，村委会驻地设在大坂路[2]。

宋至清属九、十都。1936年至1939年为达西实验乡的楚安保，1946年至1949年并入达里保。新中国成立后，先后隶属第五区及第七区的达中乡、达理乡。1958年公社化后称楚安大队，1984年起设楚安村民委员会[2]。

地理环境[edit]

下辖中窟、大坝边、顶洋、后格四个自然村，共17个村民小组[2]。区域面积约18平方千米[3]。

经济[edit]

2020年12月，楚安村被认定为泉州市中级版「绿盈乡村」[1]。
