美山村是蓬壶镇西北部的行政村，距镇政府驻地约500米。村内的仙洞山上有普济寺、仙洞宫真宝殿与仙洞山摩崖石刻等古迹，一带辟为国家3A级旅游景区。[1][2][3][4]

地名由来[edit]

村名因仙洞山风光优美而得名。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村分为仙洞林脚、官圳墘、铺面、下深、石牌口与洋垱六个自然角落。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

仙洞山普济寺又名普济禅院，有「桃源甲刹」之称，据文物资料，朱熹、叶向高等人都曾到此游览。寺始建于五代，明代重建，民国初年重建中殿与后殿。1950年寺院被毁，近年重建。1986年列入县级第二批文保单位。[2]

供奉神农大帝的仙洞宫真宝殿，最早建于唐朝，明朝时重建并定下现名。1987年曾重修屋顶；它在1982年成为县里第一批文保对象。[2]

仙洞山摩崖石刻位于陈岩山东面，年代为宋代。现存有明成化二十三年（1487年）刻的「篷壶胜概」诗，另有「心」字石与「大方广佛华严经」等题刻，1982年列为第一批县级文物保护单位。[3]

宋理学休斋陈公佳城为古墓葬，同为县级文物保护单位。[4]

仙洞山一带的普济仙洞山旅游景区为国家3A级旅游景区。[5]

著名人物[edit]

林刚中（1916—1946）是本村人，1931年考入永春中学，1933年加入中国共产党。[1]
