美中村是蓬壶镇中部的行政村，镇人民政府驻于此村，也是革命老区村。村名取自“山美”的“美”字，又因位于镇域中部而得名。[1][2]

村原称陈坂、山美。村名取“山美”的“美”字，并因地处蓬壶中部而定为美中。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2020年12月，美中村被认定为「2020年泉州市中级版绿盈乡村」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

此地位于宣和乡升平里第七都。新中国成立后的1949年，它从相邻村子析出，单独设为美中乡。1958年改为美中大队，1984年设为美中村委会。[1]

人物[edit]

林士带（1916—1943）是本村人，革命烈士。[1]
