民国时期以前，此地属永春县十九都。1961年起单独设大队。[1]
1984年起称姜莲村委会。[2]

村内的特色产业以芦柑种植为主。[2]
文化[edit]
2020年12月，姜莲村被认定为2020年泉州市中级版「绿盈乡村」。[1]
2022年12月，省爱国卫生运动委员会将姜莲村列为「2022年福建省卫生村」。[1]
2024年11月，姜莲村被认定为2024年度福建省「一村一品」专业村（芦柑）。[1]
