社区在桃城镇东侧，紧邻永仙公路，与济川社区接壤。[1]

社区名称几经变化，元明清时期称「登埔」，民国时期称「丁埔」，新中国成立后改称「张埔」。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年前，此地属济川保，此后称济川乡。1961年自济川拆出，设张埔大队。[3]

1984年改为张埔村委会，2005年5月24日村改为社区居委会。[3]

著名人物[edit]

博雅地名网记载，桃城镇张埔村人李尚维，清光绪二十五年（1899年）生，后为新加坡侨领。[4]

文化[edit]

2024年1月，张埔社区被命名为「2023年福建省卫生社区」。[1]

2020年12月，社区被认定为「2020年泉州市中级版绿盈乡村」。[1]
