卧龙社区位于桃城镇北端，与县城相距约4公里。[1]

社区名称来自由大鹏山分支而出的卧龙山，村民在山下建房、开垦土地后聚居成村。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

明代此地属善政乡昭善里十四都，民国时为桃东乡卧龙保，新中国成立后属第四区卧龙乡。[3]

此后其先后隶属东风人民公社、化龙公社与城郊公社的卧龙大队；1984年此地归入桃城镇，改称卧龙社区；2005年5月24日村庄拆除，改为社区。[3]
