榜头社区位于县城南郊，临近榜德工业园区，三郊公路进入县城的东大门一段穿过社区。[1]

社区名称因所在地势较高而来。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期隶属永春十三都。新中国成立后归长安乡所辖，1961年析出榜头村，归化龙公社管。[3]

「文化大革命」后改属城关公社，2005年5月24日起为榜头社区居委会，属桃城镇。[3]

2022年11月，榜头社区被确定为2022年泉州市中级版「绿盈乡村」。[1]
