留安社区位于县城东南郊，在留安山南麓、桃溪北畔。[1]

社区的名称由「留湾」演变而来，唐代留姓先人迁居此地是其源头。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

博雅地名网记载，宋末元初，留天禄不愿仕元，因恐遭迫害而改姓刘，并立下改姓的遗嘱。[3]

元代以来隶属昭善里十四都；民国年间归桃安乡管辖，新中国成立后改称溪安乡。[3]

1961年6月设留安大队；1987年起归桃城镇，名称改为留安村。2005年5月24日，此地改为留安社区居委会。[3][4]

地理环境[edit]

社区北靠留安山，山上的留安塔为八角七层石塔，高25米，1961年遭台风摧毁，1984年重建，1986年列为县级文物保护单位。[1][5]

名胜古迹[edit]

修爵堂位于留安社区，为五代时清源节度使留从效与南宋丞相留正的出生地，清乾隆丁巳年（1737年）重修，2018年公布为福建省第九批省级文物保护单位。[1][6]
