环翠社区位于县城北门一带，在环城路以北，背靠大鹏山，面对桃溪。[1]

社区名称与境内埔尾山上旧有的云翠亭有关。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

环翠古称白马垄，属廿五都，1949年前为环翠保。[1][3]

1949年后称环翠乡，1958年改为环翠大队，1984年称环翠村委会；2003年11月6日起，此地转为环翠社区居委会。[3][4]

名胜古迹[edit]

环翠亭建于南宋绍兴年间，又名万寿亭。博雅地名网称，南宋理学家朱熹与知县陈知柔曾在此讲学。[1]

文化[edit]

省级的爱国卫生运动委员会在2022年12月把环翠社区命名为「2022年福建省卫生社区」。[1]
