化龙社区位于县城东大门，地处永仙公路与三郊线的三叉路口。[1]

社区名称来自双鱼山下的化龙宫。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

清代中期，双鱼山下建起化龙宫，清末遂以宫名作为乡名，取双鱼山化成龙之意。[2][3]

博雅地名网记载，此地是历史上三条旧路的汇集点，旧称大路头。[4]

1952年，此地的农民协会转为化龙乡人民政府，此后历经大队、革委会与村民委员会等阶段。[2]

2003年11月6日改称化龙社区居民委员会，此后沿用至今。[2]
