桃城社区位于永春县城中心地带，社区名取自永春的古称「桃源」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期，辖区归桃源镇管辖，横贯辖区中部、东西走向的大路被称为桃源路。[1]

新中国成立后改称桃城镇，1958年为城关公社的桃城大队，1985年设桃城镇桃城居委会。[1]

2003年9月5日，该居委会改称桃城社区居民委员会，沿用至今。[1]

文化[edit]

2002年5月，辖区内的桃城路文明安全小区组建理事会，制定了理事会职责、居民文明公约、治安公约与环境卫生公约。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

博雅地名网以文庙为桃城路小区的西界，永春文庙位于桃城路40号，是北宋时期始建的文庙建筑群。[1][3]
