桃城镇是福建省泉州市永春县下辖的镇，位于县境东部，县城所在的镇区即在其中。[6][7]

镇名「桃城」来自永春古称「桃源」之说：1734年（雍正十二年）永春由县升为直隶州，县城背靠大鹏山、前临桃溪，因此有「桃城」的美称，1986年5月设镇时沿用此名。[3][4]

镇内有北宋庆历年间始建的永春文庙，留安山上的留安塔，以及与留从效、留正相关的修爵堂等古建筑。[8][9][12][13]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代至清代，这一带的户籍先后隶属昭善里十四都、民康乡鸣琴里二十都、和风里二十五都、清白里十九都与集庆乡迎福里十三都等不同的里与都。[4]

民国年间的建制名称有桃安乡、合作乡、桃城镇、桃源镇与福阳乡等，变动频繁。[4]

1949年后至1958年，该地经历了第四区、第七区、县直辖乡、城关区和城关镇等建制，部分村落还曾归东平区、东方公社与化龙乡管辖。[4]

1958年设城关人民公社，1971年化龙公社并入该社。1980年城郊公社之名启用，桃城、环翠两地划出，并入新设的城关镇；城郊公社其后于1984年更名为城郊乡。[4]

1986年5月，撤销城关镇与城郊乡，设立桃城镇。百度百科记载，同年撤销的还有五里街乡，并另设五里街镇。[1][4]

地理环境[edit]

桃城镇位于永春县东部，东南与东平镇相接，西邻五里街镇，西南连接岵山镇与石鼓镇，北接介福乡，东北与湖洋镇接壤。镇域面积72平方千米。[1][6]

永春古称桃源，县城背依大鹏山、面临桃溪，这一地理形势是镇名的来源之一。镇内有留安山，又称双鱼山，位于县城东南。[2][3][11]

百度百科据2019年末的户籍统计，桃城镇户籍人口为68923人。[1]

2021年4月，镇政府网站发布的简介称，全镇总人口为6.7万多人。[6]

经济[edit]

镇政府网站在2021年的简介中称，镇内工业企业以轻纺鞋服、机械制造、树脂陶瓷与雨具箱包为主，并有新型商贸综合体与电商产业。[6]

文化[edit]

镇政府网站称，历史上，桃城以「桂亭织画」「翘松诗词」与「桃陵书法」并称为「永春三绝」。[6]

旅居海外的侨胞与港澳台同胞，镇政府网站统计为10万多人。[6]

荣誉方面，镇政府网站称桃城连续多届获评全省文明乡镇，并获省委授予「全省先进基层党组织」称号，2015年，桃城成为全省第三批小城镇机构改革的试点镇。[6]

环境保护部在2011年4月将桃城镇定为国家级生态乡镇（2011年度）；2020年12月，「2020年福建省森林城镇」名单中列有桃城镇；2021年2月，桃城镇列入「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。[3]

2024年2月，桃城镇进入「第二批福建省乡村振兴示范村镇」的创建名单。[3]

名胜古迹[edit]

永春文庙位于桃城路40号，文庙的营建可以追溯到1041至1048年间（庆历年间），雍正十二年之后成为直隶州的文庙，1556年（明嘉靖四十四年）起固定在现址。[8]

维基百科所载，2019年10月，永春文庙被列入第八批全国重点文物保护单位。[9]

留安山又名双鱼山，在县城东南隅，山上的留安塔为八角七层石塔，高25米，塔身以花岗岩条石砌成。[5][11]

留安塔原名仙洞塔，原有文明塔与文峰塔两座，留安塔曾于1961年遭台风摧毁，现存塔体于1984年由旅居港澳的乡人捐资重建；1986年1月，该塔被列为永春县第二批文物保护单位。[12]

修爵堂位于留安社区，为五代清源军节度使留从效与南宋丞相留正的出生地，建筑渊源可上溯到唐代，北宋景德四年（1007年）曾经扩建，清乾隆丁巳年（1737年）重修。2018年，修爵堂被公布为福建省第九批省级文物保护单位。[3][13]

大鹏岩的摩崖石刻位于大坪村，明清两代所刻，属石窟寺与石刻类，县级保护。[5]

牛头寨遗址（商周）也被博雅地名网记在桃溪村名下。[5]

惠明寺[小开元]位于桃溪村一带，年代为宋与现代，博雅地名网列其为县级保护。[5]

真武宫，博雅地名网置于桃东村，为清代与现代的古建筑，县级文物保护单位。[5]

县政府公布的第五批县级文物保护单位名单中，桃城镇有高阳余氏宗祠（洋上村，清道光十八年即1838年始建）、余承尧故居——坂内堂（洋上村，清代）与赞修堂（济川村，1957年建）。[10]

著名人物[edit]

留正是南宋丞相，历经宋孝宗、光宗、宁宗三朝，出生于留湾（今留安社区）。[3][13]

留从效（906年—962年）字元范，生于留湾，曾任五代时期的清源军节度使，封晋江王。[3]

盛均为唐大中十一年（857年）考中进士的永春第一人，官至昭州刺史。[3]

周自超为乾隆五十八年钦点探花；陈金声、李尚维为新加坡的侨领；周公甫为桃城镇桃溪村人。[2][3]
